AWOL spent February 4-5, 2017 in Brookings, SD! 10 students spent Saturday working with ReStore, an organization with Habitat for Humanity.
Habitat for Humanity ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers that sell new and gently used furniture, appliances, home accessories, building materials and more to the public at a fraction of the retail price. At ReStore, participants learned about the organization, helped with inventory, cleaned, and moved products. These efforts are the backbone of support for such programs. In the evening, the students explored SDSU and went bowling. On Sunday, participants spent the afternoon at a local nursing home where they were able to visit with residents.
