We began our day again at Headstart and helped in the same classrooms as before. It was fun to see the kids’ faces light up at seeing us again and we enjoyed being able to teach them numbers and letters. A few individuals were able to teach lessons and we all enjoyed playing outside in the warm weather with the children. At the end of the day, we joined the kids on the bus ride home and were able to see more of the town. One of the kids colored a picture for a group member and it was heart-wrenching to say good-bye. During the evening, we helped sort prom dresses for the “Passion for Fashion” show. Local teens will come, purchase a dress, and have the opportunity to strut down a runway and build self-confidence. Other team members cooked a meal for 40 local teenagers and organized crafting activities to decorate local buildings and played outdoor games.
